Context is king, when it comes to reading the Scriptures. When we lose sight of the context, we can either distort the meaning of individual Bible verses or become confused about what a verse is really saying. When it comes to the Bible's teaching about prayer, this is very important. Today, we're going to look at several passages of Scripture which seem to provide a sort of "blank check" signed by God for our prayers. Taking these verses in isolation, I've known many Christians who have fallen into discouragement, disillusionment, and disappointment with God because their expectations have been misguided in the area of prayer. Let's look at these verses together and think through how and why God answers our prayers.
